Frequently asked questions
Can I change the existing text in a PDF?
Yes. Click a line of text, type the new text and press Enter. Squishly covers the old line and redraws the new one in the same place and size, using a similar font (sans, serif or mono). The result is close to the original, not identical.
Is the old text really gone?
It is covered and no longer visible, but the original characters stay in the file data underneath. For confidential information use a proper redaction tool, not a visual edit.
Which languages and characters are supported?
Replaced and added text supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew and Thai are not supported yet for new text, although you can still delete lines, sign and manage pages in any PDF.
What about scanned or password-protected PDFs?
A scanned PDF is a picture of a page, so there is no text to click, but you can still add text, place a signature, and rotate or delete pages. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened yet: remove the password first.
